Written to be read, once, by the person it binds. If any of it is unclear, that is our failure and we would like you to tell us.
1. Who we are
This policy is issued by Zagg Pty Ltd (ABN 80 662 135 435), trading as Zagg ("Zagg", "we", "us", "our"). It applies to everyone who uses zagg.app, developers and employers alike.
2. How to contact us about privacy
For any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights described in it, email hello@zagg.app. We aim to respond within 30 days.
3. What we collect
3.1 From developers
Your name, email address, phone number, city and state, right to work, notice period and work preferences; your CV and the profile drafted from it; the GitHub username you give us or connect, and what is public on that account (your bio, public repositories, their languages and dates); your LinkedIn address if you give it; the salary you are looking for; and records of what you do on the platform: the steps you complete, what you approve, who you pick, and the answers you receive.
3.2 From employers
Your name and work email address; your company's name and size and the profile you maintain about it; and records of your activity on the platform: which developers' cards you saw, your answers, and your messages.
3.3 How we collect it
Everything we hold, you give us directly when you apply and use the platform, or you authorise us to read from a public source such as your GitHub account. When you sign in with GitHub, Google or LinkedIn, we receive your email address and, for GitHub, your username, and nothing more.
3.4 Records of agreement
When you accept these terms or our Terms of Service, we keep a record of which version you accepted, when, and the internet address and browser you accepted from.
4. Why we use it
We use your information to check your application, which is done by a person and never by an automated decision; to draft your profile from your CV and GitHub using an AI service, which you then correct and approve; to run the picking and reveal process described in our Terms of Service; to communicate with you about your account, picks, interviews and offers; to verify what you tell us, including by phone before approving you; and to run and secure the platform. Your phone number is used only for that call and for the platform's own messages; it is never shown to a company.
5. Who we disclose it to
We show a developer's anonymous card, never their name, phone number or identifying detail, only to the companies the developer's own settings allow: the companies they picked, or, if they chose Open mode, any company on Zagg. We disclose a developer's identity to a company only once the developer has picked that company and it has told us it is interested. We do not disclose employer information to developers beyond what the employer has chosen to put on its company profile.
We do not sell, rent or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party for that third party's own use. We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf, under contract, only for the purposes described in this policy: hosting, the database, sign-in, email delivery, file storage, error tracking, and the AI service that reads CVs. The AI service is not permitted to train on your data.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia, for example cloud hosting, email delivery and the AI service. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. Direct marketing
We may send you information about the Zagg platform itself. You can opt out of any direct marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email, or by emailing hello@zagg.app. We do not send marketing to people who have not created an account.
8. Data security and breaches
We store your information on infrastructure with access controls and encryption in transit, and your CV in private storage that no one outside Zagg can reach. If we experience a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
9. Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong, by emailing hello@zagg.app. We will respond within 30 days. If we refuse a request for access or correction, we will tell you why. You can delete your account yourself at any time from your Account page. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, CV, photo and sign-in. Companies you talked with keep the conversation, but not your name. If you were hired through Zagg, your signed offer keeps your name.
10. How to complain
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us first: email hello@zagg.app and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
11. Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and for a period after that to meet our legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations, including the records of agreement described in section 3.4. We delete or de-identify information we no longer need for these purposes. We keep conversations for 12 months after you leave, and hiring and invoice records for 5 years. Then we delete them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at zagg.app/legal/privacy, and every earlier version stays readable at its own address.
