Written to be read, once, by the person it binds. If any of it is unclear, that is our failure and we would like you to tell us.
1. Who we are
Zagg Pty Ltd (ABN 80 662 135 435), trading as Zagg ("Zagg", "we", "us", "our"), operates the Zagg platform at zagg.app. If anything in these terms is unclear, or you would like to talk to a person about them, email hello@zagg.app. Formal notices under these terms may be sent to the same address.
2. What Zagg is, plainly
Zagg is a reverse marketplace for experienced software developers in Australia. You apply, a person at Zagg checks your application, and once approved you can go on the market for a four-week window. You choose which companies may approach you. Companies see an anonymous card, never your name, until a company you chose says it is interested. Then your identity is revealed to that company, and to no one else, and a conversation opens the same day.
2.1 There is no test
Zagg does not run technical assessments, coding challenges or interviews on your behalf. Vetting is done by a person reading your application, never by a machine, and every "no" comes with a reason. We are not deciding whether you are good enough for anyone. You decide who gets to talk to you, and the companies you choose decide whether they are interested.
2.2 We are not your employer
Zagg introduces developers to companies. We are not a party to any employment or contracting relationship that may result from an introduction, and we make no promise that any company will express interest in you, make you an offer, or that any offer will be on particular terms.
3. Applying to join
To apply you must be at least 18 years old, based in Australia and legally able to work here. Zagg is for developers with at least three years of professional experience; if your CV shows less, your application is kept and you are told when you can apply again. You may hold one account.
Everything you tell us must be accurate to the best of your knowledge and kept up to date while your account is active. Your right to work is taken on your word at this stage; we may ask you to verify anything you tell us. Before approving you, a person from Zagg may call you on the number you gave us.
4. Your profile, drafted by AI, approved by you
You give us your CV and, if you choose, your GitHub account. Zagg uses an AI service to read them and draft your profile: the roles you have held, the skills you use and when you last used each, and the systems you have built. The draft is yours to correct. Nothing in it is visible to any company until you press "Approve my profile". Saving is never approving.
If you connect GitHub, Zagg reads only what is public on your account and keeps no key to it. You choose which of your public repositories, if any, may appear on your full profile. Your anonymous card never names a repository; it only ever describes the languages you use and how recently.
5. Your window and your number
When you go on the market you set a four-week window, extendable, and state a number: the base salary you are looking for. Naming a number is a signal to the companies you choose, not a binding offer on your part, and no company's expression of interest binds you to accept anything. Your number is never on your anonymous card. A company sees it only at the point of approaching you, so that approaching you means accepting your range. Your window runs for four weeks unless you extend it, end it earlier, or accept an offer.
6. Who can see you, and when
You choose, per window, between two settings. In Selective, the default, only the companies you picked can see your anonymous card; every other company sees you only as a number in a count. In Open, any company on Zagg may find your anonymous card. In either setting no company sees your name, your phone number or any identifying detail until you have chosen that company and it has told us it is interested. Identity is revealed the same day it does. A company that does not answer within 48 hours of receiving your card is treated as having declined, and your identity is never revealed to it for that pick.
7. What we do with your data
We collect and use your information as described in our Privacy Policy at zagg.app/legal/privacy, which forms part of these terms. In short: we use it to check your application, draft and hold your profile, run the picking and reveal process above, and show your anonymous card only to the companies these terms allow.
8. Money
Zagg is free for developers. We never charge you to apply, to be on the market, to be shown to companies, or to accept an offer. Companies pay Zagg a fee when they hire someone through Zagg; you are never asked to pay Zagg anything, at any stage, for any part of this service.
9. What you let us do with your profile
You keep ownership of your CV, your code and the content of your profile. By using Zagg you give us a licence to store and process that content, to use an AI service to read it and draft your profile, and to display it to the companies these terms allow, for as long as your account exists or we are required to keep records under these terms. You promise you have the right to give us that licence: do not submit anyone else's work as your own, and do not give us a GitHub username that is not yours.
10. Acceptable use
Do not misuse Zagg. That includes creating more than one account, giving us information you know to be false, attempting to identify or approach a company outside the platform's own reveal process, scraping or automating access to the platform, or using Zagg to harass or discriminate against anyone.
11. Our promises, and their limits
We aim to run a reliable platform, but we do not promise it will always be available, error-free, or that any introduction will lead to an outcome you want. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties other than those the Australian Consumer Law does not allow us to exclude, and our liability to you is limited to resupplying the service or, at our choice, the cost of doing so. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
12. Leaving, suspension and closure
You can delete your account at any time from your Account page. Deleting your account removes your profile. Companies keep the conversation, as our Privacy Policy explains. We can suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, give us false information, or if we reasonably believe your continued access poses a risk to Zagg, a company, or another developer. We will tell you why, unless the law prevents us from doing so.
13. Changes to these terms
We may publish a new version of these terms. The version you accepted governs your use of Zagg until you accept a new one; if we make a material change, we will ask you to accept the new version before you continue. Every version we have ever published stays readable at its own address.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia, and you and Zagg submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If you have a dispute with us, please email hello@zagg.app first. Most things are solvable with a conversation.
